Developing a System Wide Safety Net for Critical Care

Telehealth is increasingly applied to existing standards of care to improve provider access to patients and deliver care with improved quality at a lower cost.

This webinar will address the opportunity to align telehealth with the ICU for Critical Care patients. Systems that support continuous monitoring with alerting tools and 24/7 access to intensivists have been shown to reduce ICU mortality and length of stay, while also impacting hospital efficiency metrics such as contribution margin and patient transfers. Tele-ICU has evolved over 2 decades in the United States and today nearly 1 in 8 ICU patients are monitored during their ICU stay with the complementary support of a Tele-ICU system. Through this webinar, models of Tele-ICU implementation will be explored that support both large urban IDNs, and smaller hospitals situated in rural areas as well as define trade-offs of a continuous monitoring application and a consult only model.

Key learnings will address Hospital Key Performance Indicators that can be linked to Tele-ICU, peer-reviewed evidence on outcomes of Tele-ICU, and strategic steps to determine what model of tele-icu fits your organization.
